AFRICA DAY

ENGAGING GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

On Africa Day, 25 May 2018, we are asking African Climate Reality Leaders to give a climate change presentation to your local government officials.  By presenting in non-scientific language using storytelling, your local government can gain a greater understanding  of climate change and the threat it poses to your community – and hopefully take this into account during future development decision making.

We hope that during the presentation you would organise for photographs to be taken, and that following you would write a report for us, to share your involvement in this campaign.

We will be hosting two webinars to discuss the campaign in further detail:

  • 10 April 2018: 14.00 – 15.00 (GMT +2)
  • 12 April 2018: 19.00 – 20.00 (GMT +2)

Register for one of these webinars here:

On Africa Day we will also be sending a letter to the African Development Bank, calling them to divest from fossil fuel investments.  Once this letter has been finalised we will make it publicly available for anyone to sign and petition the African Development Bank to support a fossil free future.

If you would like to be notified when the letter to African Development Bank is available to the public, please contact our Communications Coordinator, Nicole Rodel.
