Trump’s decision to withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement says many things to the US and the world. But his claim that “I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris,” said one thing loud and clear: he sure didn’t know Pittsburgh.
Today, led by Mayor Bill Peduto, Pittsburgh is a great city confronting the climate crisis head on, creating thousands of good jobs and a healthy environment for business and residents alike with clean energy.
Now it’s time to seize the moment and build on this incredible momentum. On 17-19 October 2017, The Climate Reality Project and our Chairman and Founder, former US Vice President Al Gore, will hold the 36th Climate Reality Leadership Corps training in Pittsburgh to forge citizen activists ready to lead the fight for climate solutions.
The intensive three-day event enables concerned citizens to gain a strong background in climate science, to learn how the crisis is transforming our planet, and become more familiar with helpful tools like digital organizing, media strategy, and grassroots communications skills that mobilize communities and push for solutions at this critical time.
Following the conclusion of the training, attendees become Climate Reality Leaders, joining a network of over 12,000 activists working in over 130 countries around the world.
