Earth Day

April 22

Earth’s species – plant and animal – are facing the greatest rate of extinction since the dinosaurs 60 million years ago – except this time, humans are to blame.

The unprecedented global destruction and rapid reduction of plant and wildlife populations are directly linked to causes driven by human activity: climate change, deforestation, habitat loss, trafficking and poaching, unsustainable agriculture, pollution and pesticides to name a few.

That’s why Earth Day 2019 is being celebrated under the theme of ‘Protect our Species’. For more information, resources, and ideas of how you can support this Day of Action, visit the Earth Day website.

Will you be taking action? Send photos and a story about what you did to ACRP’s Communications Officer, and we will share it on our blog!
