It is our pleasure to welcome Ivy Chipasha, David Michael Terungwa and Timothy Mugerwa as new ACRP Regional Coordinators for Central-Southern Africa, West Africa and East Africa!

They will be volunteering their time, energy and well-rounded climate action experience to support the engagement of Climate Reality Leaders in Africa.

Serving as Regional Coordinators for 1 year renewable under the direct supervision of the ACRP Management, their missions are:

  • to help mobilise Climate Reality Leaders in their region and contribute to facilitating the growth of the Climate Reality movement;
  • to help roll out effective engagement of the ACRP in their region for greater impact on tackling climate change and promoting a sustainable future for Africa;
  • to help the ACRP develop strategies, campaigns and activities that are relevant to Africa, and to their region in particular, and that are complementary to what other stakeholders are already doing;
  • to help build greater bottom-up ownership of the Climate Reality Project movement.

The ACRP Regional Coordinators’ mandate covers the following countries currently represented in the Climate Reality movement:

Central and Southern Africa

South African Climate Reality Leaders will be coordinated directly by the ACRP Management.

As Regional Coordinators, Ivy, David Michael and Timothy are entrusted to coordinate and liaise with Climate Reality Leaders as well as other relevant stakeholders in their respective African regions. This will be done mainly by means of telecommunications, or face-to-face meetings when the opportunity arises.

They may seek the support of other Climate Reality Leaders from their region to assist them with the coordination tasks.
